The vehicle tag renewal process just became a little more convenient for Clayton County residents, and residents of nearby counties as well. The Clayton County Tax Commissioner's Office has opened the county's first-ever self-service car tag kiosk at the Lovejoy Kroger located in Lovejoy Village plaza, 10375 Tara Blvd, Jonesboro, GA. The new kiosk is designed to help alleviate traffic at tag offices and give residents the opportunity to renew tags outside of normal business hours if necessary. This particular location is open from 7 a.m. – 1:00 a.m., and therefore, the kiosk is available during this participating Kroger’s operational hours. The transaction is quick and easy with completion in as little as 2-3 minutes per transaction, in most cases. Kiosk users can scan the bar code on the back of their driver's license or input their license plate number and address to renew their tags. More kiosks are anticipated soon throughout the county. In addition to the new kiosk, Clayton residents can also use kiosks in Henry and DeKalb counties to renew. This is for CREDIT/DEBIT transactions only, NOT cash or check transactions.
