The Clayton County Kinship Care Angel Tree Program was started to provide less fortunate children being raised by their grandparents and other relative caregivers, with new clothing and toy items at Christmas. The Clayton County Youth Commission is hosting a Canned Food Drive from November 14th - December 5th. Donate your unexpired canned food and non-perishable food items to a location near you. Locations include the Board of Commissioners Administration Building, Jim Huie Recreation Center, Carl Rhodenizer Recreation Center, South Clayton Creation Center, Virginia Burton Gray Recreation Center, Lake Spivey Recreation Center, Headquarters Library, Forest Park Library, Lovejoy Library, Morrow Library, Northwest Library, and Riverdale Library. Join the District Attorney’s Office as we pay it forward this holiday season. The items collected will be donated to Calvary Refuge Center, located in Forest Park, GA. Items can be dropped off at the District Attorney’s office, 4th Floor, 9151 Tara Blvd., Jonesboro, GA 30236, Monday through Friday from 8 am - 12 pm and 1:30 pm - 5 pm. Clayton County Parks and Recreation Department is hosting our annual Yule Log Celebration on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. This event will be held at the Reynolds Nature Preserve, 5665 Reynolds Rd, Morrow, GA 30260 and will include a bonfire, storytelling, music, and refreshments. Event parking will be at Morrow Elementary School, 6115 Reynolds Rd, Morrow, GA 30260. Shuttles will be provided.
