Clayton County earns a Top 10 national recognition (for populations 250,000 – 499,999) in the Center for Digital Government’s 2022 Digital Counties Survey. The County’s Department of Information Technology ranks 10th in the digital survey. The survey, developed in partnership with National Association of Counties (NACo) and conducted by Center for Digital Government (CDG), identifies the best technology practices among U.S. counties, including initiatives that streamline delivery of government services, provide data analytics to allow decisions based on performance and outcomes, enhance cybersecurity, and apply innovative and emerging technologies to county priorities. Clayton County was honored at the NACo conference on July 21, 2023, at the award reception.
- Creating new Clayton County website aimed at establishing a positive brand image while ensuring web and mobile accessibility. The new website also includes incorporating ADA enhancements to enhance user experience.
- The Office of Digital Equity is actively working to bridge the digital divide by organizing ACP (Affordable Connectivity Program) sign-up events, educational sessions, and collaborations for laptop giveaways. Their efforts aim to ensure greater digital inclusion and access for all.
- Completed Cyber Apprenticeship Program Level 1 through Purdue University’s cyberTap program that included Cybersecurity Foundations, and Enterprise Security.
- Streamlining business process to increase resiliency and improve operations.
- Continued progress in developing Clayton County’s new comprehensive justice management system.
