The Clayton County Central Services Department is responsible for the procurement of all commodities, equipment, and services for Clayton County, Georgia.

It is the policy of Clayton County to seek the best overall value when procuring goods and services.  Toward this end, the county finds and declares that its objectives will best be achieved through an open, competitive process with a broad range of responsible suppliers wishing to furnish products and services to the County. Our purchasing program maximizes service benefit to the community and awards contracts to suppliers who offer the best value.

Periodically, surplus county equipment is available to the public through the county government auction or public surplus sale.

Vendors may request information on bids and the bid process by contacting the Central  Department at (770) 477-3587.  Fax number (770) 447-3335.

Vendors may view bid information on our website by Bid Package number, by Bid Opening Date or By Status. This information will also include results of each bid.

Bids and/or Proposals must be submitted electronically through BidNet as specified for each Bid/Proposal.  All Bids/Proposals must be posted by the date and time specified in each bid.  Questions concerning any bids and/or proposals or the bid process should be directed to the Central Services Department at (770) 477-3587.

Clayton County Central Services Department was presented for the third year the prestigious 27th Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award (AEP) for its procurement program! This prestigious honor is awarded to those organizations that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score based on standardized criteria. The Central Services Department is one of 171 agencies in the United States and Canada and one of 36 Counties to receive the award.

In 1995, the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI) established a program designed to recognize organizational excellence in public procurement. The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement is awarded annually. This prestigious award is earned by those organizations that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score based on standardized criteria. The criteria are designed to measure innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement, and leadership attributes of the procurement organization. The criteria for receiving the award, as established by the NPI Board of Directors, requires that the nominee has made outstanding contributions to the development and progress of NPI and the public procurement profession. The AEP standards measures and provides benchmarks for public procurement best practices.
